The SuspendedEV error typically appears when the charger is unable to continue the session because the EV (vehicle) itself has paused or stopped the charging process. This condition is usually triggered by the vehicle rather than the charger or AmpUp.
What Causes a SuspendedEV Error?
Vehicle Conditions
- Car doors are open
- Driver windows are down
- Key is inside the vehicle or in the ignition
- EV detects unsafe or incomplete charging conditions
Vehicle Settings
- Smart charging / scheduled charging enabled
- Charging restricted to specific hours (day/night-only charging settings)
- EV charging mode preventing charging from starting or resuming
- State of charge already near a limit set by the driver
Connector or Port Issues
- Charging cable not fully inserted
- EV charge port detected a fault or paused charging
- Cable or connector is momentarily disconnected
What you can do:
- Close all doors, windows, and the trunk
- Disable or adjust any scheduled charging settings in your EV
- Lock your vehicle
- Turn your vehicle off and start a new session
If your vehicle continues to suspend charging, feel free to reach out to AmpUp Support for assistance. We can help confirm whether the charger is functioning properly and guide you through next steps.
