AmpUp does not set pricing for charging locations. The rates are determined by the site host, the property owner or management of the charging location.
Pricing can vary depending on:
Location
Local energy costs
Duration of your charging session
How to Check Pricing Before Charging:
Open the AmpUp app or web app.
Scan the QR code on the charger.
Review the pricing details on the station page.
If pricing is unclear or seems incorrect, contact AmpUp Support, and we will reach out to the site host for clarification.
Pricing Structures
Charging stations may use different pricing models depending on how the site host has configured the charger. The most common pricing structures are:
1. Priced by Energy
You are charged based on the electricity delivered (kilowatt-hours, kWh).
Similar to paying for fuel at a gas station, you only pay for the energy you use.
2. Priced by Time
You are charged based on how long your vehicle is connected (per minute or per hour).
Often used for Level 2 chargers.
Charges may continue even if your charging slows or stops.
3. Priced by Time and Energy
Some stations combine both models.
You may see separate charges for energy consumed and the duration of the session.
Tip: Pricing details are always displayed in the app before you start charging. We recommend reviewing them carefully so you know how your session will be billed.
