Some AmpUp chargers are set to Private, meaning you’ll need permission from the charger owner before you can start charging, or you may have to check out their public hours, if available.
1. Request Access Through the App
Open the AmpUp app and scan the QR code on the charger.
If the charger is private, you’ll see an option to Request Access.
Tap Request Access to submit your request.
The charger owner will receive an email notification and can choose to approve or deny your request.
Note: Access approval is not instant and depends on the charger owner’s response.
2. Enter an Access Code Provided by the Owner
Some charger owners use access codes instead of manual approval.
Scan the charger’s QR code in the AmpUp app.
When prompted, enter the access code provided by the owner.
Once accepted, you’ll see the charger details, including pricing, limits, and the option to start charging.
Note: Access codes may expire after a set period, depending on the owner’s settings.
3. Be Added Directly by the Owner
If you know the charger owner, they can add your AmpUp account email directly to their access list.
Once your account is added:
Scan the charger’s QR code in the AmpUp app.
You’ll be taken straight to the charging details.
No access request or code is needed.
