Network and Processing fees play a crucial role in facilitating transactions on the AmpUp platform.
Here's a breakdown of what they are and who pays for them:
What are Network and Processing Fees?
Network and Processing fees are charges incurred to cover various costs associated with facilitating transactions on the AmpUp network. These costs include accounting expenses between your Stripe account and bank, along with data connectivity costs to support charger management.
Who Pays Network and Processing Fees?
Site hosts using AmpUp have the flexibility to decide who bears the network and processing fees. This empowers site hosts to customize their pricing strategy while ensuring the sustainability of the AmpUp network.
Site hosts can choose to absorb the network and processing fees on behalf of drivers. This is controlled via the "Site Host Pays Network and Processing Fees" toggle under Location Settings:
- Toggle OFF: The site host covers the 9% (or as otherwise contracted) network and processing fee within their set pricing. Drivers will not see any additional fees included on top of the pricing set by the site host.
- Toggle ON: The driver pays an additional 9% (or as otherwise contracted) network and processing fee. This fee is included in the final price shown to drivers and will not appear as a separate line item. The site host pays nothing extra.
AmpUp will automatically collect this fee at the end of each charging session.
How to Change the Setting:
Site hosts can easily adjust the payment setting for service and processing fees by following these steps:
- Navigate to Locations in your AmpUp dashboard.
- Select Location Settings for the desired location.
- Toggle on the “Site Host Pays Network and Processing Fees” option.
- Drivers will no longer be charged service fees on their receipts and the fees will be automatically removed from site host revenue.
