If you have an account in our Community Manager (CM), you can link any existing and new AmpUp RFIDs into your account.
As a site host, you may need a pack of RFID cards if your charging stations are in a low signal location, such as an underground garage. Please click here to learn how to buy RFID cards.
Whether you have your own card/fob or recently purchased a pack, you can link them by following the steps below:
- Log in to your CM account
- On the menu bar, select “Locations”
- Click on the RFID icon
- Select Add (+)
- Select “Add Own”
- Continue to add RFIDs: If you have multiple cards, enter RFIDs in the box to give access to new users. Make sure they are separated by commas (,).
By linking these RFIDs manually through the community manager, these will offer anyone who has access to / scans these RFIDs free charging because they are not linked to a payment method.
Note: Not all charging stations have RFID readers. Not all proximity badges are compatible with all charging stations. For security reasons, RFID cards cannot be used in multiple locations. Recommended key fob or badges would need to be in the standard (13.56 MHz).
If you want drivers to use RFIDs and link them to their payment method, you can purchase the RFIDs and then have drivers link them in the AmpUp mobile app and this will offer an easy way to start a charging session and track who is using them.
