If your location uses a Session Limit, drivers are normally capped at a set amount of charging time per session. Until now, a driver who hit that limit could simply unplug and plug back in to start a new session — sidestepping the limit entirely. You can now turn on a setting that closes this loophole, so a Session Limit actually caps a driver's charging for the day.
Why This Feature Matters
Site hosts often ask:
- "My Session Limit isn't doing anything and I don’t want to charge Idle Fees — drivers just replug and keep charging."
- "How do I make sure everyone gets a fair turn at my chargers?"
Session Limits are meant to promote charger turnover and fair access — but a driver who unplugs and replugs after reaching their limit could start a brand-new session and keep charging indefinitely. This new toggle closes that gap: once a driver hits their Session Limit for the day, they're blocked from starting another session at that location until the next calendar day, unless you choose to override it.
How to Turn It On
- In your Community Manager portal, go to Pricing Groups and open the group with the Session Limit you want to enforce.
- Under Session Limit, find the new Prevent Replugging After Session Limit toggle.
- Turn it on to prevent drivers from starting a new session at the location once they've reached their Session Limit for the day.
- Save your changes.
What Drivers See
Once the toggle is on, a driver who reaches their Session Limit and then tries to plug back in will see a Charge Status screen letting them know they've reached their daily charging limit at that site. Charging will not start.
A Few Things to Know
- The restriction applies location-wide. Once a driver hits their limit, it blocks new sessions across all chargers at that location — not just the one they were using.
- It resets every day. The block clears automatically at the start of the next calendar day, based on the site's local time.
- You can still override it. As the site host, you can force start a charging session for that driver from Community Manager, bypassing the restriction if you want to make an exception.
- This setting is OFF by default. If you don't turn on the toggle, replugging behaves the same way it always has.
